Level Crossing Removals

Making Melbourne Travel Safer

The Andrews Labor Government will remove 50 of Victoria’s most dangerous and congested level crossings. The contract for the removal of the first four have been completed by John Holland and KBR consortium.

These works included the removal of the level crossings and rebuild of stations at Centre Road in Bentleigh, North Road in Ormond, McKinnon Road in McKinnon and Burke Road in Glen Iris.

Korb successfully tendered the tactile works supplying and installing all the tactiles on platform. Some 120,000 tactile indicators were installed per station in a 48 hour window complying with MTM shut down occupations. A substantial feat delivered by our highly experienced 10 man installation team and specialised multi-head drilling rigs running concurrently along each platform completing the works in record time.

Korb's dominance in the rail corridor completing the South Morang Rail Extension, the Footscray to Deer Park Rail Extensions and now all the Level Removal Crossing Projects rolled out to date, has seen Korb proudly recognised by MTM & Vline as the specified Supplier and Installation company in Victoria.
